IPhone SE is still alive: Apple's new "state employee" will look like the iPhone 14
Miscellaneous / / April 02, 2023
The first smartphone with Apple's own 5G modem could be released in 2024.
In early January, various sources wrote that Apple had abandoned the SE line, a series of the company's cheapest smartphones. One of the first to report this was an authoritative insider and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Less than two months later, he refuted your information.
According to new data, Apple will still not abandon the SE line and plans to produce the fourth model in 2024. The novelty will be built on the basis of the case iPhone 14 with an OLED display of the same size - 6.1 inches. The screen panel may be manufactured by China's BOE Technology Group.
If the information is confirmed, then this will be the first iPhone SE with OLED-matrix, not LCD.
According to Kuo, it will also be the first iPhone with Apple's own 5G modem. Now the company uses Qualcomm chips.
Probably, the next iPhone SE will become a kind of guinea pig for the Cupertino company - if there will be any problems with the new chip, they will appear in the cheapest smartphone, and not in the flagship models. This carries fewer reputational risks.
