Adobe launches Firefly, an AI-powered image generator

The system only learns from content that is licensed or not copyrighted.
Adobe at last introduced Firefly's own image generator powered by creative generative AI models. The company releases the first two tools that take advantage of them. One allows you to get an image for a text query, and the other generates stylized text - something like AI-based WordArt.
Adobe tries to make its tools easier to use than most competitors. Instead of introducing a fancy string of styling tags, Firefly offers built-in options for art styles, lighting, and aspect ratio.
You will also be able to apply your chosen effects to an already generated image instead of creating a new creation each time you want to update the effect.
For now, Firefly will be available in beta format and only through the website. But ultimately, Adobe plans to tightly integrate generative AI tools with its suite of applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.
At the same time, Adobe has become one of the few companies willing to discuss what data its models are trained on. And according to the developers, everything that uses AI is either not copyrighted, or licensed for education, or is in the Adobe Stock library.
This should give the Adobe system the benefit of not conflicting with artists. Accordingly, the system becomes more secure for brands.
We are able to generate high quality content and not random intellectual property of companies and others because our model has never seen that brand's content or trademark.

The company also added that Adobe plans to pay artists who provide training data. This won't happen at launch, but the plan is to develop some kind of "compensation strategy" before the service leaves beta.
And besides, Adobe is working on a system that will allow artists to insert a special query into image metadata so that AI doesn't learn from their work.
Firefly now available for free on the Adobe website, but to use it you need to apply and wait for an invitation.
