Employees will be able to choose a specific day.
On February 20, a bill will be submitted to the State Duma that will give Russians an additional paid day off a year. There is one but: it will be possible to use it only for medical examination. About it report "News".
Now annual medical examinations are mandatory only for civil servants and employees over 40 years old. People aged 18 to 39 can apply for a day off for medical examination once every 3 years, but pensioners and people of pre-retirement age can take a day off for examinations twice a year.
If the bill is passed, then each employee will be able to take one day off a year and use it to undergo a medical examination. It can be taken as a paid day off: upon written application and after agreeing the date with the head.
State Duma Vice Speaker Vladislav Davankov notes that such a measure will allow more people to remain healthy and help identify serious diseases at an early stage. This will be useful for both the state and the employer, since the employee will be able to spend less time on sick leave and stay able to work longer.
Izvestia also cites the opinion of Alexander Safonov, professor of the department of personnel management at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. He believes that such changes may lead to the spread of informal labor relations. In his opinion, it would be more efficient to introduce mandatory medical examinations for all people, and not just able-bodied people, into the CHI system.
What do you think: is such a medical time off needed, or is the idea doomed to failure?
