Author YouTube channel NL Tech told about the discovery in the Galaxy S23 Ultra of a setting called Pause USB Power Delivery. When you connect your smartphone to a power outlet, it allows you to power the device directly from the adapter, bypassing the battery.

Pause USB Power Delivery is turned on automatically when you launch the Game Booster game utility, which allows you to reduce the temperature of your smartphone and play without draining the battery. This means that even with daily gaming sessions, the battery will not degrade and lose capacity over time.

Thus, the Galaxy S23 Ultra consumes only 6 W when the direct power function is active and 17 W when the built-in battery is charging in parallel with the operation of the device itself.

Note that this power mode was first used not by Samsung, but by manufacturers of gaming smartphones. There are similar settings, for example, in Asus ROG Phone 5 and ROG Phone 6 - they even have special ports for such recharge.
