In Russia, a surplus of laptops has formed, which can lead to lower prices

Good news for those who were about to buy a new laptop.
At the beginning of the year, more than 1 million unsold laptops accumulated in the warehouses of Russian electronics distributors. Among them are Taiwanese MSI, Chinese Xiaomi and American HP. About it writes "Kommersant".
Market participants attribute the resulting surplus to the rush demand for devices last spring, which is why distributors began to actively purchase any equipment in reserve. However, after building chains of parallel imports, the threat of shortages disappeared, demand decreased, so a huge amount of equipment has now accumulated in warehouses.
Experts believe that after the February and March holidays, prices for some models may fall by 10-15% - while maintaining the dollar exchange rate.
According to M.Video-Eldorado, about 3.1 million laptops were sold in Russia in 2022, of which 1 million were sold on the eve of the New Year holidays. More than 30% of unit sales came from Chinese brands, and in the third and fourth quarters, the share of these manufacturers in the market reached 40-45%.
According to MTS, laptops of the following companies remain the most popular in Russia: HP (19% of the market), Asus (16%), Lenovo (16%), Acer (13%), Honor (8%), Huawei (7%) and MSI (6%).
