Enqueue: the closest alternative to iTunes
Makradar Technologies / / December 19, 2019
I can understand people who do not really like iTunes. It is no longer a player. The program stores the movies and TV shows, books and podcasts, provides access to radio stations and synchronizes the data with the iOS-devices.
Alternative players like a lot, but no one in my soul and do not lay down. The most interesting competitor to iTunes - it Enqueue, which was announced recently.
Enqueue - is "just a player," without unnecessary functionality. The program supports a large number of formats including flac, ogg, aac, wav, and, of course, mp3.
At the time of the first run, you will be prompted to import your iTunes library or specify a folder with music files. Interestingly, the Enqueue can "monitor" the selected folder. As soon as there will be a new file, the track will be immediately added to your library.
Enqueue controversial interface. The left column shows the artist albums and compositions, in the right window - genres and artists. Inappropriate, in my opinion, looks placing the Preferences link, which opens the application settings window (do people so often run in "Settings"?).
Of the features worth noting integration with Last.fm, the story is interesting implemented (program demonstrates that you really listen) and has low system resources.
As a developer a lot of plans for the development of the program. The most interesting items from its roadmap - it support smart sheets and downloading album covers and lyrics from the web.
Currently Enqueue free. Download the beta version from the official website.
