Amazon is preparing a series about the noir Spider-Man

Amazon launched in development for a series that will follow the noir Spider-Man in 1930s New York. The show will take place in a separate universe, unrelated to Peter Parker.

Spider-Man: Noir will be written and executive produced by Oren Uzil (The Lost City, Mortal Kombat). He will work alongside the producers of the film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse» Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal.

It was previously announced that Amazon and Sony are working on another Spider-Verse series, Silk: The Spider Society, from showrunner Angela Kang. Which Marvel characters will be featured in such shows has not been specified. The same goes for the cast of the series.

Spider-Man Noir comics originally debuted in 2009 as part of the Marvel Noir universe. This version of the iconic superhero lives in New York during the Great Depression. He is bitten by a spider hidden inside a stolen artifact, causing him to have visions of a spider god who grants him superpowers.
