Amazon showed a large-scale trailer for the series "The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power"

A new epic promo video for the upcoming series based on the novels by J. R. Tolkien. Rings of Power is set in the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The series will show all the main events of the Second Age: from the creation of the Rings to the fall of Numenor and the coming to power of Sauron. In the original books, the story developed over thousands of years, but for the sake of ease of adaptation, the gaps reduced.

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power launches on Amazon Prime Video on September 2nd. On this day, two episodes will be released at once, then they will release one a week. There will be 8 episodes in the first season. So far, Amazon plans to make five seasons and is willing to spend a billion dollars on them.
