Pixelmator Photo photo editor now requires a paid subscription

Developers of the popular photo editor Pixelmator Photo changed app distribution model on iOS. If earlier the program was bought once, now it requires a paid subscription. This made it much more expensive, and you won’t be able to use at least part of the functions without a monthly payment.

In Russia, a monthly subscription costs 499 rubles, and an annual subscription costs 1,550 rubles. You can also pay once and get an eternal subscription, but it will cost 4,990 rubles. For comparison, before the full version of the program could be bought for 749 rubles.

Those who have already purchased the application should not worry: access to all functions will be preserved forever.

At the same time, the developers announced a native application for macOS. It will be released in 2023, more exact dates have not yet been specified. It is also noted that Pixelmator Photo subscribers on iPhone and iPad will receive the Mac app for free. And those who continue to use the previously purchased full application will receive a discount on a subscription for macOS version.
