What does your child look like?
At 13 weeks, the baby is the size of a small peach. Length fetus from crown to tailbone - about 7.4 cm, and weight - 25 g.
The child's muscles contract involuntarily, so he randomly jerks his arms and legs, but the mother does not feel it yet. Some babies at this time are already trying to suck their thumb.
The long bones of the limbs and the skull are gradually compacted. The kidneys are already working, and urine is excreted into the amniotic fluid. The ovaries in girls and the testicles in boys are internally developed, the other reproductive organs continue to form.
The intestine from the umbilical cord moves completely into the abdominal cavity.
Things to remember at this stage
- Most women feel much better. But for some, the symptoms still persist. If nausea and vomiting do not stop, you need to tell your doctor about it.
- In multiple pregnancies, it is recommended to carefully control nutrition. Specialists considerthat the daily calorie intake should be increased by 600 kcal.
