True, photographing people on the sly with them will not work - and not only because of the specific design.
Xiaomi has announced a new gadget Mijia Glasses Camera. The name fully justifies itself: these are smart glasses with a pair of cameras that allow you to take high-quality pictures without taking out your smartphone. At the same time, the glasses themselves are polarized, so they can cope with protecting the eyes from the sun's rays.
The main camera module is 50 megapixels, there is also an 8 megapixel telephoto lens. Their combination allows you to achieve 5x optical and 15x hybrid zoom. Photos and videos taken on glasses are synchronized with a smartphone, you can record videos up to 100 minutes long (thanks to a 32 GB drive).
Xiaomi has taken care that the device is not used for shooting on the sly. Although the gadget is not inconspicuous or secretive, when you switch to camera mode, an LED sensor is activated on it, so that a person can understand that he is being filmed.
The device also supports augmented reality. At launch, only two features are announced: a real-time translator (from English to Chinese) and AR instructions for controlling the camera. In the future, the list of features is promised to expand through updates.
In augmented reality mode, the image is displayed on a 0.23-inch MicroLED display developed by Sony and a prism that displays the image over glasses. Powering the camera and smart features is an octa-core Qualcomm processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 are used to connect to a smartphone, although the ability to work offline is not reported.
Despite the massive appearance and smart stuffing, the gadget weighs only 100 g. Its 1,020mAh battery supports 10W wireless charging, which can power up to 80% in 30 minutes. The magnetic connector is included in the scope of delivery.
Mijia Glasses Camera will appear on Xiaomi crowdfunding on August 3, where they can be pre-ordered for 2,499 yuan. After the release, the price rises to 2,699 yuan. This is approximately 23,100 and 24,900 rubles, respectively.
