How to delete a YouTube channel or hide it

If for some reason you no longer want your content to be available on YouTube, then Google offers two methods for this purpose: hiding and completely deleting the channel.

In the first case, subscribers and other users will not be able to see the name of the resource, videos, information about subscriptions. All your comments under the video will disappear, but the rest of the account data in other Google services will be preserved. The content will be hidden, the function of downloading videos, comments and playlists will disappear. However, if desired, the channel can be restored.

If you are sure of your decision, then you can immediately permanently delete the channel along with all content, including playlists, comments, messages, likes, as well as browsing and search history. Paid subscriptions will be canceled in this case, but will continue to work until the end of the paid period.

Keep in mind that the deletion is irreversible and it will be impossible to restore the data if you change your mind.

How to hide a YouTube channel

Go to the creative studio link and open settings.

Select "Channel" in the side menu and switch to the "Advanced Settings" tab.

Scroll to the very bottom and click "Remove content from YouTube".

When the account management page opens, sign in to your account.

Select the "I want to hide my channel" option.

Check the boxes on the left, confirming that you understand the consequences, and click "Hide my channel".

Click Hide My Content.

After that, the channel will be hidden, but it may take some time for the changes to take effect.

How to delete a YouTube channel

Open page creative studio and go to settings by clicking on the gear icon.

Go to the "Channel" → "Advanced settings" section.

Scroll down the list and click "Remove content from YouTube".

Sign in to your Google profile on the account management page.

Click "I want to permanently delete my content."

Check the boxes on the left to agree and click "Delete my content".

Manually enter the name of your account and click "Delete my content" again.

Next, start the video removal process. Depending on their number, it may take from a couple of minutes to a couple of days.
