The novelty will help the medical staff to find the most suitable place for the puncture.
Students from Tyumen have developed a vein visualizer with a decision-making function. About it writes "RIA Novosti" with reference to the press service of the Tyumen State University (Tyumen State University).
The creators of the medical gadget said that hard-to-reach veins are often found among people with diabetes mellitus, obesity and body structure, which makes injections and infusions painful procedure. This is what led to the creation of CyberVein - a device for visualizing veins.
The visualizer is equipped with two infrared cameras and a laser rangefinder, which measure the depth of the veins, as well as their thickness. With this information, CyberVein projects the vein pattern back onto the skin and shows you the most optimal puncture points.
According to Ivan Demin, one of the creators of the venovisor, CyberVein will become part of the AutoHem autonomous blood sampling system, which TSU students are currently working on.
