Ingredients
- Bacon or brisket 70 g
- Onion 1 piece
- Cream cheese 225 g
- Sour cream 225 g
- Hard cheese 75 g
- Dried garlic ½ tsp spoons
- Lemon zest 2 tbsp spoons
- Black or whole grain bread 1 loaf
- Greens to taste
Cooking method
Fry the bacon or brisket pieces, melting all the fat. Add half rings of onion to the fried pieces and wait until they soften.
Combine cream cheese with sour cream, about a third of grated hard cheese, dried garlic, citrus zest and sautéed onion and bacon.
Cut the top off a loaf of bread. Work your knife along the sides of the loaf, cutting through the crumb all the way to the bottom without touching the bottom. Remove the crumb.
Distribute the cheese mixture in the loaf cavity and sprinkle with the remaining grated hard cheese.
Chop up the rest of the crumb and the top of the bread crust. Place the slices of bread next to the bread bowl on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake everything at 230 degrees for 15 minutes. Sprinkle herbs on the bread bowl before serving.
