Of course, there were some exceptions.
«Let me know” is a rubric for the stories of our readers. Every week we launch a survey and look forward to your comments. Last week, we offered to remember how your graduation went. We publish stories.
Romantic presentation of certificates by candlelight
Daria Kostyuchkova
A year before my graduation, I was at a party with older guys. As soon as everyone, beautiful and smart, gathered in the assembly hall and the solemn part began, chaos reigned in the street. The hurricane toppled trees and cut power lines. Lights went out throughout the area.
Graduates and their parents first waited for the bad weather to subside and the Ministry of Emergency Situations to fix everything. But time passed... A few hours later, the director found candles somewhere. The graduation ceremony was very romantic. But not very happy. The girls were upset: no one saw any makeup or hairstyles. And I had to take off my high heeled shoes so as not to kill myself on the steps.
Banquet also did not wait. They began to get everything that was in store right in the assembly hall. Of course, no one was let out of the school - there was a catastrophe on the street. And so they celebrated almost until the morning.
Heels and sunshine
Daria Rodionova
I wore high heels to prom for the first time. It was really hot. The line was held in a large school yard. We, the gold medalists, were first forced to make a lap of honor around the yard, and then they were told to stand in a row to listen to parting words from the teachers. They used to talk about for a very long time!
What was happening was like torture: the sun was shining, I was in heels... When it was all over, I was led to the side, and I began to faint! As a result, while my relatives were trying to bring me back to normal, the class went to be photographed, and it was not possible to get to the general pictures.
Change and dawn on the balcony

For my graduation, I planned to have fun and look forward to a new cool life that I will soon begin. At that moment, I was dating a guy from a parallel class. We wanted to go to study in the same city or even the same university.
Closer to two o'clock in the morning, when the official program ended, a disco was announced. I tried to look for my boyfriend so that we could slow dance, but he was nowhere to be found. A friend said that he seemed to have gone to the schoolyard. There was a secret place for smokers, and I was sure that he went to smoke.
And yes, he was there. Truth, not alone, and with his classmate - an ex-girlfriend. They were kissing. At first I froze as if rooted to the spot, and then burst into tears.
The rest of the evening is in a blur. Tears, showdowns, apologies: “Yes, I just made a mistake, memories flooded in, we won’t see her again” and stuff like that.
I left graduation early. I asked my parents to pick me up. I didn't want to talk to anyone. But it seems that my friends told my mother everything, and she did not pester me with questions. Just brought home, gave tea. And then we met the dawn on the balcony. And that was probably the best part of graduation.
Confessions in the toilet

My graduation was in 1994. I well remember the moment when my main school rival came up to me and said that she really respects me a lot, and apologized for provoking clashes.
We had a really difficult relationship with her. We were both athletes and honors students. Both constantly fought for the attention of classmates. And they both fell in love with the same guy. But he ended up dating me.
This girl - let's call her Lisa - got so angry that she sent him a letter. It said that she cannot live without him, and “in general, why does he need this narrow-eyed one” (the heroine has an Asian appearance. — Approx. ed.).
When Lisa apologized, a tear ran down her cheek. It was so unexpected and touching that I burst into tears too. And so we stood for half an hour in the school toilet, asking for forgiveness for all the nasty things that we had done. Lisa opened up to me from a new side, and then for some time we even maintained friendship.
Graduation in the hallway
Elena Gritsun
My graduation was in 2000. Then, in the middle of a hot June day, not just rain, but a storm warning was suddenly transmitted in the city. And all schools canceled trips to sea — the traditional meetings of the dawn by the water were covered.
Therefore, we were locked in a stuffy building without an assembly hall - it was replaced by a corridor on the second floor. The boys climbed out to breathe on the visor of the emergency exit. The girls did not take risks: they were all in high heels, and it was raining outside.
In a word, the only entertainment was incredibly sour dry wine, bought by the parents' committee on the cheap. And also the realization that the headmistress drinks and praises the “cognac”, created with love for moonshine by the grandfather of a classmate.
The most boring graduation
Alya Alexandrova
I graduated from high school in 2017. Then the whole summer was terribly cold - in June the temperature was about 15 ° C.
I think I'd win the competition for the most boring prom. We celebrated at school. No hint of alcohol. Almost no one dancedbecause the music was so-so. Nobody knew what to do with themselves.
Of the cool ones, there was only a krinzhovy presenter who confused the school holiday with a wedding and held vulgar contests. Was disappointed.
