Basketball instead of looking for Pokemon.
Niantic, developer of Pokemon Go, announced another game with augmented reality - the first in the world of sports. It's called NBA All World, and it's also based on real-world location.
As in Pokemon Go, the map around the player is filled with various activity points, but they are not related to Pokemon, but to basketball.
We are turning the world around you into a basketball universe, or as I personally like to say, we are turning the real world into a basketball theme park.
Now places and objects in the real world will become elements of a video game. The store near you will be the place to build your NBA player's endurance, while the sporting goods store around the corner is the place to buy the latest branded shoes for him.

The game will feature head-to-head basketball matches on various venues on your map and the chance to play against real NBA stars to get on your team.
There will also be an overall leaderboard and some storytelling elements related to the hometowns of NBA stars. The game will be released on iOS and Android next season, which means the release could take place as early as October.
In addition to NBA All World, Niantic is currently developing an AR game Peridot, which is dedicated to the care and breeding of magical creatures.
