Skiff Mail is a secure email service with decentralized file storage

Skiff Mail is an end-to-end encrypted email service. Correspondence will not be read if you and your recipient use such a messaging system. When you create an account, you set a standard password, and also save the generated recovery key to your computer in case you lose access and forget your passcode.

Also, instead of the standard way to log into your account, you can use crypto wallets MetaMask, Coinbase, Phantom or Brave, which makes the process easier and safer at the same time. In this case, the public unique address of your wallet on the Ethereum network is used to determine the identity. In this way, you can avoid hacker attacks and interception of your data at the time of authentication. In addition, Skiff Mail allows you to activate two-factor authorization.

The interface of Skiff Mail is quite minimalistic. On the main page there is a menu with sections of the mailbox: "Inbox", "Sent", "Drafts", "Spam", "Archive" and "Trash". The main screen also displays a list of letters, the contents of which are opened by clicking.

The design of the service is inspired by Gmail, but it has even fewer elements, which allows you to quickly understand it. The window for composing a new letter pops up in the lower right corner.

In your account settings, you can switch the storage of your files from a centralized server to a distributed interplanetary IPFS file system. This decentralized way of recording data will help you keep your important information even in the event of a blockage or hardware problems with Skiff.

The Skiff service not only works with mail, but also offers a text document editor like Google Docs. You can go from your mailbox to the Pages section with just a couple of clicks. This tool has all the basic features familiar to Google users.

With it, you can quickly write down ideas or collect articles, and then send them colleagues mail. When sharing text, readers can leave comments. The finished document is exported in PDF, Markdown or DOCX formats.

Skiff Mail is available not only on the web, but also on mobile devices. The application has all the basic functions: you can read letters from the box, view the main folders with sent, drafts and spam, as well as write and send new messages. It's also easy to add labels, archive and redirect to spam from your phone.

In the free version of the service, 10 GB of free space is allocated for mail and 1 GB for Pages documents. The developers also offer a paid Pro subscription for $ 8 per month with 100 GB of storage for letters and texts. Open source Skiff Mail is available at GitHub.
