Why was the appearance of this shiny piece of foil unexpected? The fact is that it lies about two kilometers from the point of descent. Scientists have already suggested that he could detach himself during the descent, or he was already carried away from the surface by the Martian wind: the rover landed back in 2021, and the thermal protection fragment had enough time to fly to the new places.
