I tend to think that it is better to work for yourself. There are a number of reasons for this:
- so you are constantly developing, striving for something new, trying to make your product better in order to attract customers and increase profits;
- you have the opportunity to independently schedule work and leisure, have more freedom in planning travel, family holidays, and so on;
- you do what you really like, what you see as your vocation;
- you are emotionally free from the yoke of superiors and independent of other people's decisions.
This is only part of the huge list of benefits of working for yourself. But, of course, there are also disadvantages: instability, uncertainty about the future, great responsibility, stress, overwork, the need to master the skills of an accountant, manager, and so on.
In this regard, employment seems more reliable and stable: you have a clear schedule, certain responsibilities and a plan to follow.
Every month you get a fixed salary. You do not need to think about how much rest you can afford or how much money you need to invest in production to make it profitable. Everything is decided for you.
But, despite this, you are terribly constrained by the framework, you cannot fully develop and do not see another world full of life.

I think that it is necessary to start working for hire. So you will face fewer risks, gain experience in working in a team and communication with partners. Also, using the example of the company in which you work, it will become clear how it is worth doing business, and which practices are not the most successful.

Before starting my own agency, I worked at three digital companies in various positions. This experience made it clear how processes are set in them, how the market works, how internal and external communication is built. So the idea of his own business did not frighten, but rather, on the contrary, inspired. In addition, there was an understanding that I am a responsible and purposeful person who always strives to perform his tasks well.
But in fact, these qualities do not guarantee success in business. I looked at opening my own business too infantile and did not suspect the pitfalls that I would have to face.
Difficulties began literally from the first day - when I had to figure out how the workflow and accounting work. I hate bureaucracy, so writing contracts and filling out tax returns seemed torturous. I still cringe when I think about it.
Then I realized that I lacked managerial skills in order to organize the work of employees. And in principle, I did not like the role of a manager. I didn’t know how to “turn off” at some moments and tried to control everything. Because of this, I think people could experience excessive pressure. In addition, constant communication tired me.
Another problem came up - processing. Even when, it would seem, I was resting, thoughts still occupied the development and fate of my SMM agency.
All this eventually led to the realization: I do not want to be an entrepreneur. I can be a responsible performer working in a company, a manager in individual short-term projects, a freelancer who is responsible only for his own tasks. But running a business is not my thing. It was not easy to accept this idea.
But in fact, to live well and achieve meaningful results, it is not necessary to open your own business. The images of a successful businessman or businesswoman are too romanticized in our society.

I am a freelancer with 4 years of experience. I realized that it is better to work for hire, while having space for creativity and the ability to manage my schedule at least partially. It is also important to manage your own income or regularly review your salary in the company.

It all depends on the character of the person. Robert KiyosakiRobert Toru Kiyosaki is an American entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and writer. Bestselling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad. says that employees do not like and are even afraid to make mistakes. And people with an entrepreneurial nature are happy to make them and perceive them as an experience.
He also wrote more than once how employees came to him with a request to help them open their own business. It often turned out that they did this in order to increase income, and the entrepreneurial profession itself did not attract them.
Kiyosaki himself said that for him, work in the company, on the contrary, was difficult. If the soul lies in your own business, sooner or later you get tired of being an employee.
Therefore, I think if a person is trying to understand what is best for him, he should first answer himself the questions: “Am I ready to take risks? Am I willing to make mistakes? This directly determines the attitude to entrepreneurship.

Worked for 2.5 years. It was another test! Constant calls from the authorities in the middle of the weekend, hassle, low salary that does not correspond to the load - all this was accompanied by a complete lack of leadership desire to optimize and automate some routine processes. As a result, I left to work for myself, turning a hobby into an income, which I am very happy about.
