How to align text in Word

Six proven methods to choose from.
Alignment is one of the basic text formatting techniques that is most often used in document design. There are many different ways to set the desired location of the text or its individual fragments on the pages both horizontally (which is required more often) and vertically.
How to align text horizontally in Word
1. Through the toolbar
The simplest text alignment method that only beginners may not know about. And yet it also needs to be mentioned.
Switch to the "Home" tab and place the cursor on the desired paragraph or select a piece of text.
Click on one of the buttons for alignment.
2. Using hotkeys
This method is known mainly only to experienced users. It allows you to apply the same alignment options as the previous one, but with keyboard shortcuts. Agree, it is more convenient and much faster.
Press Ctrl + L, Ctrl + E, Ctrl + R, Ctrl + J on your keyboard to align left, center, right, and justified, respectively.
3. From paragraph settings
The location of individual parts of the text can also be set through the "Paragraph" menu, where all standard alignment options are available.
Place the cursor on the desired paragraph, right-click and select "Paragraph" from the context menu.
Set the desired alignment method and click OK.
4. With a ruler
To visually align blocks of text, especially when they need to fit illustrations or other objects on the page, it's handy to use the ruler.
Go to the "View" tab and in the "Display" menu, turn on "Ruler".
Move the arrows to align the text. The top one changes the indentation of the first line, and the left and right ones change the size of the indents on each side.
At the same time, if you drag the borders of the ruler, you can change the size of the margins and thus move the text away from the edges.
How to align text in Word vertically
1. Via page options
For vertical alignment of text when, for example, it is typed large font and there is not much of it, the easiest way is to use the document settings.
Switch to the Layout tab and click on Page Setup.
In the window that opens, go to the "Paper Source" section and select the desired option for vertical alignment.
2. From table layout
When there are tables in a document, sometimes it is necessary to align the height of text within cells. There is also a special option for this.
Highlight table and switch to the Layout tab.
Click on the "Alignment" button and set one of the options to the center column.
