13-inch MacBook Pro line of notebooks with the Retina-display was demonstrated to reporters at a recent Apple presentation, along with iPad mini, iPad 4 and the new iMac. Although media attention in the greater degree was drawn towards the last three products, this does not detract from the merits of a new version of "Proshka" with Retina-display.
Erica Ogg, a journalist popular western GigaOm edition, published a few days ago reviewWherein the first shared personal experiences of using the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina-display. To me it seemed quite article informative and interesting, so happy to present to you a free retelling with a few additions.
I used the 13-inch MacBook Air (actually, two whole) since the beginning of 2011. If you asked my opinion on this matter, I would without a doubt called him the best computer I've ever used in my life. Honestly, I'm not very interested in an active replacement for this notebook, because all the other 13-inch Apple computers were too heavy for me. When I had the opportunity to try the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the Retina-display, I was almost I convinced that the only reason for the further purchase of laptop can serve as display high authorization.
Surprise! And that is what it turned out - the screen is very pleasing to the eye and makes virtually all applications and websites that I use on a daily basis, fantastically clear, saturated and bright. But most of all I was surprised by the size of the laptop and its weight.
Purely on paper, 13-inch MacBook Pro with the Retina-display is not as thin and light as his "air colleague» Air. This model occupies an intermediate position in the line of Apple laptops - between Air and heavier MacBook Pro 15 ". But in the life of a 13-inch MacBook Pro with the Retina-display feels incredibly small laptop. According to official figures from Apple, the shell thickness is equal to 1.9 cm and weighs only 1.62 kg. It is half a kilo lighter and 20% thinner than the MacBook Pro 13 "of the previous model. However, as an avid user Air, I was curious to compare the data haraktirestiki with this laptop model - 1.72 cm and 1.34 killogramm respectively.
Of course, Air is thinner and lighter. However, the 13-inch Pro somehow takes up less space in terms of square. You can see this for yourself by looking at the photo below. Thinner frame around the screen allows you to place the display closer to the bottom "rod". On the other hand, in the Air Frame is wider and more space in the region below the keyboard, especially in the wrist area. Yes, MacBook Pro felt heavier. But Apple has managed to get rid of lischnih areas and to design it so that it appears when using some ease - you have exactly as much space as required.
Before the test laptop I had a feeling that the extra weight and thickness of the Pro spoil all the impression of use. I love my Air for the fact that I often have to work remotely and change the location - whether it is to go from the living room to another room or to move out of the cafe to the airport. Air almost does not weigh down my bag with things, so the question of whether to take or not to take your laptop with you, I have never been there. Despite the apparent ease and portability inside the hidden powerful components that are fully meet my business needs, mainly related to the browser and control media content in iTunes.
In turn, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the Retina-display showed itself in all its glory. In addition to the screen and body size, according to my personal feelings laptop has a higher build quality than the Air. The keypad emits some magic click every time I push the button, and the trackpad feels more solid. The frame around the display is made in black tones, it gives the impression of a certain glamor and elitism (light frame on my Air suggestive of some sort of budget laptop). Intel i5 c processor 2.5 GHz with no problems answering my requirements in the (mostly I run two browsers with dozens of tabs open, you will need to upload photos or handle video).
Although I truly impressed by the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the Retina-display, according to my personal beliefs, I will not fundamentally updated on it - one day I promised myself that I would not change a computer every year just because of the fact that the sale will be a little more powerful model. I want to use your computer for several years before trying something new. However, if I were to purchase a premium laptop at a reasonable price, I would have paid attention to the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the Retina-display. In the meantime, I wait.
