Which iPhone will get USB-C first
Miscellaneous / / May 12, 2022
According to well-known Apple analyst Ming-chi Kuo, in 2023, the Cupertino company will abandon Lightning in iPhone 15 in favor of universal USB-C.
He received this information from suppliers of parts for Apple. According to him, in the next 2-3 years, manufacturers of USB-C connectors and accessories with which the company is working to iPad Pro and Mac cables will receive significantly more orders as iPhones move to USB-C. This statement also hints that in a couple of years, Apple will release an iPhone without connectors.
The decision could be linked to a forthcoming EU law that would require smartphone makers to ditch proprietary charging ports and switch to USB-C. In addition, this will allow the company to increase the speed of charging and data transfer in its flagships.
If Apple continues to stick to the standard schedule, the iPhone 15 will be released in the fall of 2023. Until then, we will probably learn more about the smartphone, but for now we can only wait: after all, the company has not even shown iPhone 14.
