IOS "Music" spontaneously takes up space in the dock
Miscellaneous / / May 06, 2022
No, this was not planned.
Users complain that the stock Music app on iOS behaves strangely. After downloading from the App Store, the service takes up space in the dock, throwing out one of the previously added applications from there - without any warnings or prompts. In addition, in some cases, the application becomes the default music service for Siri.
Siri usually asks which app you want to listen to music through when you first ask it to turn something on. In the future, it remembers the choice, and the dialog box is not repeated. But some users complain that after reinstalling Music, this service becomes the default setting, regardless of the previous choice.
It is not yet clear how common this problem is and what causes it. Lifehacker tested this on an iPhone from which Music was deleted a long time ago. After downloading the application, it did indeed dock, replacing Telegram, although it did not install as a standard application for Siri.
Developer Kevin Archer, who was one of the first to discover this bug,
notedthat the application only kicks third-party applications from the dock. If you only have Apple apps in the Dock, Music will install as usual and won't replace anything.Best deals of the week: discounts from AliExpress, Love Republic, Chitay-Gorod and other stores
