Earlier, a similar decision was made by another telecommunications giant, Ericsson.
The Finnish company Nokia officially announced, which finally leaves the Russian market. Earlier, on March 2, the manufacturer had already stopped deliveries of equipment due to sanctions.
The press release says:
On humanitarian grounds, Western governments have expressed concern about the risk of failure of Russia's critical telecommunications network infrastructure. They also stressed the importance of ensuring uninterrupted access to the Internet. Therefore, when we leave, we will strive to provide the necessary support for maintaining networks and will file application for appropriate licenses to provide this support in accordance with applicable sanctions.
In terms of the financial implications of this decision, Russia accounted for less than 2% of Nokia's net sales in 2021. Given the strong demand seen in other regions, the company does not expect this decision to affect its ability to achieve its 2022 guidance.
It is important to note that just the other day about his departure from the Russian market declared another telecommunications giant, Ericsson. This Swedish company has already suspended deliveries and all business processes.
Anticipating difficulties with the purchase of telecommunications equipment, Russian operators back in March warned about future communication problems. Mintsifra same recommended them to refuse unlimited tariffs and reduce the included Internet traffic in package offers in order to “balance the volumes” and reduce the load on the networks.
