Users complain about the build quality of the iPad Air 5

It looks like Apple took pity on aluminum.
More and more complaints appear on the Web from the first owners of the new iPad Air on the M1, which went on sale on March 18 (but not in Russia). Although reviews from specialized publications praise the tablet and call it successful, users have noticed an unpleasant feature. It turned out that the back cover is thinner than the previous generation and iPad Pro. As a result, the device creaks when pressed.
Here's what Reddit user mezzox33142 posted on Reddit, starting a discussion with over 350 comments:
Today I received two blue iPad Air (2022) and they shocked me a little. The aluminum panel is much thinner compared to my iPad [Air] 4. You literally feel the battery when you hold the device. Both new tablets feel the same and creak when you pick them up, the owner of the second tablet also noticed this. This was not the case with the fourth generation. I am returning both tablets back.

In the comments, a similar problem was confirmed by both the owners of the novelty and those who managed to touch it in the Apple Store. One of the users
posted YouTube video in which a creaking sound is clearly audible. In a tablet folio you can use no problem, but in the "naked" form it is not very pleasant to use.It seems that the problem occurs regardless of the color scheme: there are messages from users of each version in the comments. One of them even checked all the colors in the Apple Store and claimsthat they are all assembled in the same way. Some, however, writethat their tablets are strong enough and do not creak.
Apple has not yet commented on the situation, so the store determines the possibility of a return.
