What is the map "World"

Mir is the Russian national payment system. It was created so that remittances within the country would not be influenced by external economic and political factors. For example, sanctions. Since 2015, cards with the same name have been issued on the basis of the payment system.

"Mir" looks and works like any other bank card: it can be used to withdraw and deposit money into ATMs, pay through terminals, in online stores and applications, use the services of mobile and Internet banking.

Contactless payment is also available for Mir cards. They can be linked to Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and SberPay services. The payment system also has its own mobile application for contactless payment - Mir Pay. It is available for Android smartphones.

What are the cards "World"

There are five main types of cards:

• debit - to store money, pay for goods and services, transfers;
• credit - to pay for purchases in

• social - with free service, for pensioners and students, operate in specific regions;
• Premium Mir Supreme — with increased cashback, special promotions and access to business lounges at airports;
• co-badged - for use abroad.

Let's talk about the latter in a little more detail. Co-badged cards were not very popular until recently, but now Russians need them to travel around the world.

Co-badged cards are issued in two payment systems at once and work in countries where at least one of them operates.

There are three variants of Mir co-badged cards:

• "Mir" - Maestro, operates in 180 countries,
• "Mir" - JCB, operates in 190 countries,
• "Mir" - UnionPay, works in 150 countries.

Maestro and JCB have suspended their activities in Russia for the time being, so only UnionPay co-badged cards remain. Now they are issued by Rosselkhozbank, Solidarity Bank, VBRR Bank and Promsvyazbank. This list will expand in the near future.

What can the World Map be used for?

The national payment card appeared relatively recently, so it does not yet work in all countries, foreign online stores and services. For example, it cannot be used with PayPal. But Mir also has tangible advantages. That's what the map will be useful for.

For trips abroad

March 6, 2022 Visa and Mastercard suspended work in Russia, and all system cards issued in the country stopped working outside of it. Therefore, to travel, you will need a Mir card.

It is accepted in several countries:

• Turkey,

• Belarus,
• Kazakhstan,
• Kyrgyzstan
• Tajikistan,
• Abkhazia
• South Ossetia.

For other destinations, only co-badged cards are suitable.

The Russian payment system is mandatory used by public sector employees, students and pensioners. Also, the Mir card is needed to get:

• allowance for unemployment,
• childbirth allowance,
• maternity allowance,
• childcare allowance,
• monthly payments on children
• payments to victims of radiation.

To access discounts and promotions

Members of the loyalty program can take advantage of special offers. To join it, the cardholder needs to register on the privetmir.ru website or in the Hello, World! mobile application. But there is an important condition - the issuing bank must be on the listBanks participating in the Loyalty Program for MIR cardholders program partners.

After registration, you can use promotions, discounts and cashback for various goods and services. For example, with the Mir card it is more profitable to pay for travel in the Moscow and St. Petersburg metro, bills for public Utilities and state duties, purchases in chain supermarkets, marketplaces, hardware stores and on educational platforms.

Some offers are only available to residents of certain regions.

To get 20% cashback on travel

Probably the most tempting offer in the loyalty program is a 20% travel cashback for trips across Russia.

To get it, you need to pay for a tour or hotel accommodation with a registered Mir card from March 15 to May 1, 2022. The trip must be at least 2 nights, you can go on it from the start of sales until July 1, 2022.
