Netflix reveals release date for 'Resident Evil'

Netflix has several projects in the Resident Evil universe planned and has already released the first of them: the animated series "Resident Evil: Endless Darkness». Now, the first teasers of the upcoming game series, which will be called simply "Resident Evil", have appeared.

Unfortunately, they do not clarify much: so far we have received only three posters. The first shows a tube with a blood sample labeled positive for the T-Virus, a deadly disease developed by the Umbrella Corporation. The second shows a capsule with the inscription "Joy" and the name of the same corporation "Umbrella". The third contains no clues at all - just bubbling blood splatters on a yellow background.

The posters revealed the series' release date: July 14. Previously reportedthat it will consist of 8 episodes. The first episode will be titled "Welcome to Raccoon City" and will run for 1 hour.

Netflix's Resident Evil will take place in 2036, 14 years after the outbreak of the T-virus that turned the world into a hellish place. The main character is Jade Wesker, one of the daughters of Resident Evil antagonist Albert Wesker. She is haunted not only by her own dark past, but also by hordes of mutant zombies.

Siena Agudong will play Jade and Lance Reddick (John Wick) will play Albert Wesker. Also in the series will appear Ella Balinska (Charlie's Angels), Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina"), Paola Nunez ("The Purge"), Ahad Raza Mir and Connor Gosatti, their measles are not yet are revealed.
