Leaving the gadget to charge overnight is not as bad as it is often said.
Old batteries containing nickel had a so-called memory effect and wore out quickly if they were left on recharge for a long time. But modern lithium batteries have overcharging protection. At the moment when the battery is 100% full, the controller turns it off and the device starts to work from the mains.
