They will allow you to send a signal for help even where there is no mobile network.
Startup from Brussels (Belgium) developed O-BOY watches that will increase the chances of rescue in extreme conditions, such as in remote mountainous areas. The device received an SOS button that sends a request via satellite.
The watch face is protected by tempered Gorilla Glass. It can be digital or analog - with classic hands. In the digital version, the display, in addition to the current time, will show the battery level and Bluetooth connection status.
The body of the gadget is protected from moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard. The device withstands immersion under water to a depth of 9 m, and also has an anti-shock system, thanks to which it remains operational after shocks and vibrations.
On the right side of the clock is a large red button. It activates the display, allows you to pair with a smartphone via Bluetooth and send an SOS message:
- Long press - cyclic sending of coordinates at an interval of five minutes to an hour to selected contacts (up to four numbers - these can be relatives or rescuers).
- Five taps - send location and pre-recorded message to contacts.
- Eight clicks - send the same data to the nearest rescue station.
Bluetooth is only needed to record a message and save a list of emergency contacts. Messages are sent on a private satellite network that covers most of the planet.
Help is provided by subscription. It is proposed to issue it only for those months when you really need it - for example, during your vacation in the mountains or an expedition to the jungle.
Prices for location messages start at $10 per month to help travelers who deviate from the route or get lost. Permanent tracking of movements, for example, on difficult routes, will cost $ 20 or more, rescue - from $ 29. In addition, insurance is offered with a coverage of 50 thousand rubles. dollars.
The price of the watch itself starts from 265 euros - for the first investors of the project on Kickstarter. The prototype of the device is already ready, and O-BOY will begin sending out in June 2022.
