iMac and Kindle competitors.
Huawei announced two new devices at once within the Huawei Smart Office ecosystem: its first tablet with an E-Ink screen and the largest monoblock in the manufacturer's lineup. Here's what you need to know about these devices.
MateStation X
The all-in-one computer received a 28.6-inch display with an IPS-matrix with a resolution of 3840 x 2560 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. It covers 98% of the P3 color space and supports touch input.
The monoblock was equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor, 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal memory (DDR4-3200 and NVMe SSD M.2, respectively). The case is all-metal, the kit comes with a wireless keyboard with a fingerprint scanner and a wireless mouse.
The three-speaker audio system was developed jointly with the French company Devialet. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack, as well as a pair of USB-C and USB-A ports. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 are available for wireless connectivity.
MateStation X will come with Windows 11 and will cost 2,199 euros.
MatePad Paper
Huawei's first E-Ink device is designed for reading and quick handwritten notes. According to the manufacturer, the 10.3-inch display with anti-reflective coating and 32 levels of brightness provides comfortable viewing both in low light and in direct sunlight. It is capable of reproducing 256 shades of gray.
Huawei notes the minimal bezels around the display (the screen-to-front ratio is 86.3%) and the magnetic attachment for the M Pencil stylus. The latter allows you to add notes on top of files in PDF and other formats. The delay is only 26ms. A fingerprint scanner has been integrated into the power button.
The device runs on HarmonyOS 2.0 and supports synchronization with Huawei computers and smartphones. The tablet will appear as a USB flash drive, to which you can quickly transfer the necessary files.
The 3625mAh battery is fully charged in 1.5 hours with 22.5W fast charging. This is enough for 6 days of active use or 28 days of standby time.
The MatePad Paper will come in a single 4GB/64GB version, along with a folio cover and an M Pencil stylus, priced at €499.
