Charging Galaxy S22 + and Ultra was not powerful enough

When buying these smartphones, it makes no sense to pay extra for a 45W adapter.
Journalists of the GSMArena edition tested charging speed of the new Samsung Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra. Samsung says they've got support for 45W fast charging (vs. 25W for the base Galaxy S22 and last year's S21), but the test showed that smartphones were charging only on paper.
During the experiment, both smartphones were sequentially charged with original adapters from Samsung with a power of 25 and 45 watts. Also, the Galaxy S22 Ultra was additionally charged with a 65 W unit with Power Delivery support from a third-party manufacturer. Unlike Samsung adapters, it does not support the PPS (Programmable Power Supply) standard.
The researchers took into account two parameters: battery replenishment in 30 minutes and the time until the device is fully charged. It is important to note that the battery capacity of smartphones is different: the S22+ has a 4,500 mAh battery, while the Ultra model has a 5,000 mAh battery.
The results were unexpected. The difference in charging speed when using three adapters was no more than 5%, and in some cases the 25W adapter coped with the task even faster than the 45W adapter.
This suggests that Samsung's claims to support 45W fast charging in the new flagships are not true.
The company was already in a similar position in 2019 when the Galaxy Note10+ received support for 45W charging, but benchmarks showed minimal differences in speed when using adapters for 25 and 45 watts. The Note20's maximum charging power was 25W, and there were hopes that Samsung spent a year working on bugs and improving the technology. Practice shows that this did not happen.
