Samsung launches Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra - latest with stylus

Samsung, as part of the traditional Unpacked presentation, announced new flagship smartphones: Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The first two models resemble their predecessors, but the third one turned out to be much more interesting. We will tell you more about all the new products.

Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+

Visually, these smartphones are very similar to the Galaxy S21 and S21 +, but there are still differences in the details. At a minimum, the screen frames have become narrower, and now they have the same width on all sides.

The metal edges that “creep” onto the photomodule and the glass back panel are also in place. A new feature was the use of environmentally friendly materials in the production, including plastic created from discarded fishing nets.

The screens of the Galaxy S22 and S22 + traditionally differ in size: 6.1″ and 6.6″. Both use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with a resolution of 2340 × 1080, a refresh rate of 24-120 Hz and a brightness of up to 1500 nits (1750 nits for the S22 +). Protects their glass

In terms of cameras, everything is identical:

• 50 MP main module (85°, f/1.8, OIS);
• 12MP wide-angle (120°, f/2.2);
• 10MP telephoto (36°, f/2.4, OIS);
• 10 MP selfie module (f/2.2, 80°, 2PD).

The telephoto offers 3x optical zoom and 30x digital. The OIS system is enhanced with digital stabilization using new AI-based algorithms. The manufacturer promises the smoothest possible picture.

In the US, smartphones will ship with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, and in Europe and Russia with Exynos 2200. The latter is made using a 4nm process technology and has an Xclipse graphics core based on the AMD RDNA 2 architecture. The amount of RAM everywhere will be 8 GB (LPDDR5), and the built-in memory - 128 or 256 GB.

The Galaxy S22 has a 3,700 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S22+ has a 4,500 mAh battery. Qi-charging is supported at 15 W and fast wired charging, but with different power - 25 W for the Galaxy S22 and 45 W for the Galaxy S22+.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The Ultra version differs in design, size, and the presence of a stylus built into the case - like in the Galaxy Note flagships, which are no longer available.

The digital pen has a minimum latency of just 2.8ms (three times less than before). According to representatives of the company, this made it possible to achieve the most natural sensations from handwriting and drawing.

The screen of the smartphone has a diagonal of 6.8″ with a resolution of 3080 × 1440 pixels. Peak brightness is up to 1,750 nits, and the refresh rate can vary from 1 to 120 Hz.

The set of cameras Galaxy S22 Ultra also differs from S22 and S22+:

• 108 MP main module (85°, f/1.8, OIS);
• 12MP wide-angle (120°, f/2.2, AF);
• 10MP telephoto (36°, f/2.4, OIS);
• 10MP telephoto (11°, f/4.9, OIS);
• 40 MP selfie (f/2.2, 80°, AF).

Particular attention was paid to night shooting at the presentation. For high-quality photos in such conditions, Samsung has adapted a new 108 MP sensor, complemented by optics with anti-reflective nano-coating.

The new Night Solution software system with multi-frame shooting, filtering out blurry photos and additional reverse of successful ones also helps to cope with poor lighting. These algorithms can even be used with portraits or selfies.

The S22 Ultra's two telephoto lenses provide 3x or 10x optical zoom as well as 100x digital zoom.

The processor of the smartphone also varies depending on the market - Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200. The amount of RAM can be 8 or 12 GB. Built-in memory - 128, 256, 512 GB or even 1 TB. The battery is 5,000 mAh with 45 W wired charging, as well as 15 W wireless charging.

All three smartphones based on Android 12 with Samsung One UI 4.1 interface work. Also, all have stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and moisture protection (IP68).
