According to the new researchA Literature Review and Meta-Analysis of the Effects of Lockdowns On Covid-19 Mortality / Johns Hopkins University, conducted by scientists from Johns Hopkins University, lockdowns and other restrictions in the United States and Europe had little effect on reducing mortality from COVID-19.
Lockdowns at the early stage of the pandemic in 2020 reduced covid deaths by about 0.2%, and self-isolation by an average of 2.9%, according to a broad review of numerous scientific studies.
“We find no evidence that lockdowns, restrictions on gatherings, and school and border closures had a measurable impact on COVID-19 mortality,” the study authors note.

In conclusion, the scientists added that the conclusion from their study is clear - lockdowns and restrictions should be abandoned.
