OS X Mavericks brought a number of updates that we still find something new. You may have noticed that the behavior of the Power button is now slightly different. As part of the convergence of its mobile and desktop OS, Apple has changed the actions that are available when you press the power button. Now she has more similarities with iOS. What? Let's find out.

Going to Sleep
From now on, there is nothing easier than to put your Mac to sleep. Just press the power button. All - the screen goes blank and Mac go to sleep, "snoring" LED. Pressing immediately return it to working condition. And if you have the password, you will be prompted to enter it. You've probably become accustomed to such behavior on the iPhone or IPad. Well, try to use it on your Mac'e - you may like it.
A restart or shutdown
There are several ways to restart your Mac, but the easiest of them - is to press and hold the power button for 2 seconds. In the resulting window will be options and you will only have to select an option: Restart, Sleep shutdown or cancellation.
Again, the analogy with iOS, where the power button while holding the same menu appears, but is not available in the iOS feature reboot.
Forced Shutdown
Like all computers, Mac may from time to time "hangs" or, to put it more correctly, "cease responding." This is quite rare, and mostly on old Macs, but it still happens. To force shut down, simply press and hold the power button until the display goes blank (while ignoring all the warnings).
This action is the power button remains unchanged, yet it also has similarities to iOS (except that it uses also the Home button).

Symbiosis of iOS and OS X increases with every major upgrade and that's fine. I'm glad that Apple sticks to this policy, because the two operating systems have in their arsenal of cool features to we are getting used to and happy to use them without hesitation for what OS at the moment interact.
