AirPods Pro 2 will receive a case with sound locator

Headphones will be released this year.

Renowned Apple Analyst Min-Chi Kuo shared new details about the second generation AirPods Pro. According to him, the speaker holes will appear in the charging case, which we already seen on renders. Thanks to this, the case can be found by sound through the Locator app, even if there are no headphones inside.

In addition, the new model may be the first in the AirPods line to receive support for the Apple Lossless Codec (ALAC). It provides lossless compression, but does not work when connected via Bluetooth - which may hint at the wired connectivity of the new AirPods Pro.

Formerly Kuo reportedthat AirPods Pro 2 will be released in the fourth quarter of 2022 and will have a legless design reminiscent of the Beats Fit Pro. It is also expected that the new headphones will be equipped with additional sensors for tracking physical activity.
