Dinosaur embryo egg found in China

A rare find once again proves the connection between dinosaurs and modern birds.
In the Chinese district of Ganzhou, a unique fossil was discovered - a perfectly preserved egg with an oviraptorosaurus embryo. The find, whose age is estimated at 66-72 million years, was named "Baby Inlyan".
It is one of the best preserved and most complete embryos and demonstrates that dinosaurs coagulated shortly before hatching. in a special way that helps them to leave the egg: the head is lowered between the paws, which are on the sides, and the back is curved along the blunt end eggs. This is the first dinosaur embryo found in this position.
By studying the embryo, scientists have concluded that this behavior, which increases the chances of hatching, may have developed for the first time. it is among non-avian theropods (this is a class of dinosaurs that walked on two legs, which include Oviraptorosaurus). Previously it was believed that it manifests itself only in modern birds.
In an article about the find, Professor Steve Brusatt of the University of Edinburgh noted
An exquisitely preserved in-ovo theropod dinosaur embryo sheds light on avian-like prehatching postures: “This is one of the most beautiful fossils I have ever seen. A small dinosaur embryo looks like a chick curled up in an egg, which is another evidence that many of the traits characteristic of modern birds first appeared in their ancestors-dinosaurs ".Read also🧐
