All major books in the series will be adapted.
The streaming service Netflix has decided to renew the series "Witcher"Even before the first season came out in December 2019. Shortly after the premiere, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed that she plans to film seven seasons. Several years later, her intentions have not changed - in the recent interview Colider, she confirmed that she was still sticking to her plan.
Hissrich added that she remains faithful to the source material as before and does not feel the need for the story to go beyond Sapkowski's original novels.
At the same time, Hissrich emphasized the importance of not being limited to the framework of the “one book per season” format. For example, Season 2 is an adaptation of Blood of the Elves, but there is one big story from this book that Hissrich will include in Season 3.
We do roughly one book per season, but we also make sure the stories in this book are the best of our TV show season. Therefore, sometimes we move these chess pieces a little. For example, in the third season there is a big story from "Blood of the Elves". Or there was a story that we couldn't fit in the first season, so we put it in the second. We try to be flexible enough in this regard.

Netflix showrunner for The Witcher
In total, the main cycle of stories about the witcher includes eight books, but there are several more separately written stories. In addition, in 2018, as part of the Comic-Con festival, Andrzej Sapkowski reported about the intention to write another book in the series, but this will no longer be a direct continuation, but a prequel or a branch of the plot.
The Witcher series will also have a kind of prequel, where they will tell about the magical cataclysm Conjugation of spheres, which mixed the boundaries of the worlds and led to the creation of witchers. Its action will unfold 1200 years before the appearance of Geralt of Rivia.
