Forbes Names 17 Highest Rated Games of 2021
Miscellaneous / / December 13, 2021
Forbes Editor Paul Tassie looked at game and add-on ratings for 2021 on Metacritic and made up a list of the most highly rated projects of the outgoing year. Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker won first place and highest score.
The rankings were topped by the 2010 multiplayer role-playing game, which received its fourth major update in 2021. Endwalker was released relatively recently, so over time, its score may still change a lot, but so far it has an average of 9.5 points. Below is the entire list of 17 positions.
Highest Rated Games of 2021 on Metacritic:
- Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker - 9.5
- It Takes Two - 9.2
- Monster Hunter Rise - 9.0
- Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - 8.8
- Inscryption - 8.8
- Metroid Dread - 8.7
- Tales of Arise - 8.7
- Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart - 8.6
- Forza Horizon 5 - 8.6
- Resident Evil Village - 8.5
- Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade - 8.4
- Disco Elysium: The Final Cut - 8.2
- Microsoft Flight Simulator - 8.1
- Halo Infinite - 7.6
- Returnal - 7.3
- Deathloop - 6.3
- Psychonauts 2 - 5.9
Some games' scores keep changing almost every day, adding or losing a few points. For this reason, the places on the list are rather arbitrary.
The life hacker also summed up the results of the year, naming the best game in the opinion of the editors. If you have another favorite, you can choose it in the custom vote.
