Apple officially announced the Self Service Repair program, which will allow the owner of the brand's equipment to carry out self-repairs using original parts and tools.
For this, the company will launch the Apple Self Service Repair online store. It will sell more than 200 individual parts and tools that will fix the most common iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 breakdowns, including replacing the display, cameras and batteries. Moreover, returning old parts for recycling will allow you to receive bonus points that can be used on your next purchase.
Apple notes that even with the correct parts and instructions, such repairs require specialized skills. therefore, most users are still recommended to contact the services - both official and independent, concluded an agreement with Apple for the purchase of original parts and equipment.
The program will start working early next year for owners of iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 smartphones, after which it is planned to expand it to Macs with M1 processors. At first, it will operate only in the United States, but during 2022 it is planned to make it available to other countries as well.
