Fraudsters began to fake PornHub to steal data from users of "VKontakte"

In Russia, the number of phishing pages imitating PornHub has increased dramatically. Since the beginning of November, more than 60 similar domains have appeared, while in September-October only units of site clones have been registered. About this with reference to cybersecurity experts from Infosecurity a Softline company writes Kommersant.

It is reported that many new clones are aimed at stealing accounts of the social network "VKontakte", through which PornHub checks the age of users. Social media login credentials are of great value to cybercriminals. They open access to resources related to the social network, as well as to correspondence and private information that can be used to send messages to the victim's friends.

In addition, scammers can distribute malicious software through fake PornHub, for example, by offering to download a program to bypass blocking, experts say.

Visually, phishing pages are indistinguishable from authorization pages for Russian users. Fraudsters protect them from detection using automated methods. For example, the code of one of the sites contains a large number of non-displayable blocks with terms that have no connection with the topic of the porn site. This makes it difficult to find them for subsequent blocking.
