Google learned to look for pet doppelgangers in art
Miscellaneous / / November 09, 2021
Perhaps your dog or cat is on a Renaissance canvas.
Google has introduced a new Pet Portraits feature for its Arts and Culture app. It allows you to search artwork for animals similar to your pets.
It is enough just to take a picture of a dog, cat, fish, parrot, rabbit or reptile, and then start the search. Artificial intelligence algorithms will try to find doubles in various paintings, drawings, or even figurines.
In one click, you can go to the proposed exhibit and learn more about it. Search results can be saved in slideshow format or even viewed in augmented reality if supported.
How to use the function:
- Please update the Google Arts & Culture app and open it.
- Launch the camera and select Pet Portraits.
- Take a photo or select a picture from the gallery.
- Use swipes to scroll through the options.
