The feature is still in beta, but anyone can enable it.
WhatsApp has finally made available to all users the ability to use the PC application and the web version of the service without being tied to a smartphone. The process will take just a couple of minutes and will allow you to sync devices once and for all without the need to re-authorize.
Up to four devices can be connected to one account at the same time, but only one of them can be a smartphone that acts as the main one in the bundle. Even if the smartphone disconnects from the network or runs out of power, you can still chat through the desktop client. The main thing is to open the mobile version of the messenger at least once every 14 days, otherwise you will have to log in again.
To enable sync, you must first connect to beta testing the feature. It's easy to do: in the WhatsApp settings on your smartphone, select “Connected devices” → “Beta version for multiple devices” → “Use beta version”.
Then you just need to open the web version or desktop application on your PC, and on your smartphone, in the “Connected devices” section, click “Link device” and point the camera at the QR code displayed on the screen.
After that, you can use the app or web version without the need for permanent authorization.
It is noted that while working in this mode there are restrictions: for example, it will not be possible to call or send messages to users who use the old version of the messenger.
