Scientists have found that Native Americans may have come from Siberia
Miscellaneous / / October 14, 2021
This is confirmed by the results of DNA analysis and studies of the structure of the teeth of the Indians.
One of the popular theories of the origin of Native Americans suggests their relationship with the Japanese Jomon people. This hypothesis is based on the similar lifestyle of these groups, as well as the identity of the weapons being manufactured, which was confirmed by numerous archaeological finds. However, a new studyPeopling the Americas: Not “Out of Japan” / PaleoAmerica, published in the journal PaleoAmerica, completely refutes this theory.
This hypothesis was put forward only on the basis of archaeological evidence, but our achievements in the study of biological remains, including the analysis of ancient DNA, cannot be neglected. In this paper, we decided to look at the origins of the indigenous peoples of America from the standpoint of bioanthropology, and our results refute such a popular theory.

John Hoffecker, as part of a group of scientists from Russia, Spain and the United States, came to conclusionthat the Indians may be descendants of people from Siberia. It was possible to refute the relationship of Native Americans with the Japanese with the help of a detailed comparison of the structure of the teeth, which confirmed that the two peoples are evolutionarily far from each other.
This is also evidenced by the results of a genetic study of material from bones - nuclear and mitochondrial DNA, male chromosomes. They confirmed that Native American nucleic acids carry sequences from several regions of Northeast Asia, including Siberia.
The Japanese Jomon group is very diverse and at one time mixed with many peoples. Its genetic traces have been found in Southeast Asia and even in the American Arctic, but not in other parts of the continent. We assume that the origins of the Native Americans lie somewhere in Siberia. But where exactly, we still have to find out, and here we will not do without the approaches of biological anthropology. "
