Apple's newest flagship versus last year's Samsung smartphone. Can you guess the winner?
The flagship iPhone 13 Pro Max just today became available for pre-order in Russia, but the first reviews and tests are already appearing on the Web. In one of them, the famous tech blogger Arun Maini with more than 8 million subscribers on YouTube arranged a comparison of cameras with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
In many scenarios, smartphones shoot almost the same way, but sometimes the difference in color and detail is very noticeable. For example, the iPhone 13 Pro Max performed much worse with a large zoom.
But when shooting with a 3x optical zoom, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is already slightly inferior, although in general in this test the author of the video gave the victory to the Samsung smartphone.
In macro photography, it is more difficult to identify the winner. The devices handle images differently, but both allow you to see even the smallest details.
In low light conditions, the iPhone 13 Pro performed better than the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which often turns yellow and loses detail. But, again, this can be seen not in all examples.
In comparison with portrait photography, the author of the video also awarded the victory to the iPhone 13 Pro, which conveys more realistic shades and accurately separates the background.
In terms of typical everyday outdoor and indoor photography, the iPhone often exhibits more realistic color reproduction, without the saturation twisted and with the correct white balance. However, visually, such photos are often inferior to Samsung frames, which slightly embellish reality.
Sometimes the post-processing of photos on smartphones varies greatly. Some people will like the photo on the iPhone, while others will choose the Galaxy photo.

On the aggregate of all tests, which also include video recording, the flagship Samsung earned more points. However, the minimal difference in the set of comparisons makes it impossible to choose an absolute winner. Smartphones turned out to be roughly equal - each with its own advantages and disadvantages.
What do you think, which smartphone performed better in this comparison?
