Xiaomi has announced an updated version of the PaiPai gadget, submitted In the past year. It is a wireless transmitter that fits in your pocket and allows you to broadcast videos or presentations to another screen. It is marketed as a meeting device, but it can also be used to mirror the screen to a TV without AirPlay or Chromecast.
Paipai consists of two parts: a transmitter that connects to a computer and a receiver for an additional monitor or TV. The device has a Wi-Fi module, and both parts of it can create a local LAN network, so you don't need the Internet to work.
In addition, it supports the simultaneous operation of multiple transmitters with one screen, so that any the employee could display the image from his laptop on the monitor without the need to connect another PaiPai.
The device supports 4K video output at 30fps. This is an upgrade over the previous version, which only supported Full HD at 30 fps. Another significant change is the connector: the transmitter now connects to a laptop using USB-C, while the previous model uses the outdated USB-A. The receiver still has an HDMI connector.
The manufacturer claims that the device has low latency, but did not name the exact parameters. It is noted that the user does not have to install drivers: you can turn it on and work immediately.
Xiaomi PaiPai (2021) was estimated at 499 yuan (≈5 800 rubles), the release date and the possibility of an international version release have not yet been specified.
