And the smallest smartphone in the series will be replaced with a new large device.
Renowned insider Ming-Chi Kuo has shared new details regarding the 2022 iPhone. According to him wordsApple will finally get rid of the screen notch - the front camera and sensors for Face ID will be housed in the hole. True, this applies only to the flagships, that is, the potential iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The set of devices in the lineup next year will also change. Apple will ditch the ultra-compact mini solution, replacing it with a new affordable iPhone with a larger display and probably the Max in the name. The entire line may look like this:
- iPhone 14 (6.1 ″ screen with bangs);
- iPhone 14 Max (6.7 ″ screen with bangs);
- iPhone 14 Pro (6.1 ″ screen with hole);
- iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7 ″ screen with hole).
Kuo previously wrote that these smartphones may also have a fingerprint scanner built into the display, but now he writes that Apple has postponed the implementation of this development until 2023.
The source also noted the appearance of a 48-megapixel main camera, which will allow you to get better quality 12-megapixel photos. Apple is probably using the same four-pixel-into-one fusion technology that competitors have been using for a long time. It allows you to take pictures with more detail with less noise.
Despite the rejection of mini-versions of smartphones, Apple is not going to completely abandon compact solutions. Especially for fans of such devices in the first half of 2022, the company will release a new iPhone SE. It will receive support for 5G networks for the first time. It is worth waiting for at one of the spring presentations.
