Which iPhone models are more likely to change to the new iPhone 13
Miscellaneous / / September 16, 2021
The first deals showed who was most tired of the old smartphone.
Large American retailer of used equipment SellCell published statistics of the preliminary trade-in program. It allows owners of old iPhones to fix the price of a surcharge when exchanging their device for a new model even before its release (and they will give the old gadget after receiving a new one). In just 2 weeks, the service received thousands of applications - and told which models they were most often offered in exchange for the iPhone 13.
A whopping 18% of that number came from the iPhone 11 - which makes sense given the difference in design, cameras, and displays. Plus, the 2019 flagship continues to drop in price, so now is a great time to get rid of it relatively profitably.
It should be noted that contracts for the purchase of smartphones are popular in the United States: users do not pay the full price a new gadget immediately, and monthly pay part of its cost to their operator - along with payment for services communication. As a rule, such contracts are two years old, after which the smartphone goes into the possession of the user. Those who received the iPhone 11 under a contract at the start of sales have just finished paying for it - and can resell it to buy a new model.
The second place is shared by the three-year-old iPhone XR and the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is living out its last days as the flagship - they each account for 14% of the total number of trade-ins. If XR users are quite possibly just fed up with old phones, then the behavior of iPhone 12 Pro Max owners themselves is SellCell explain by the increased price of devices in the secondary market, which allows you to get rid of the gadget profitably and get a new one with minimal surcharge.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max closes the top three with 11% - probably the situation here is the same as with the regular iPhone 11. But the Pro model is not on the list - it can be assumed that due to the lack of a compact top model in the 2021 lineup. Five older models follow, followed by the iPhone 12.
