Face ID in iPhone 13 will be able to work with a mask and glasses

According to well-known leak finder John Prosser, Apple is testing a new generation of Face ID cameras, which are adapted to work in a pandemic. For this, the company's employees received special cases for the iPhone 12, which add a new set of sensors to the smartphone.
In the new module, the camera is located on the left, and not on the right, as in the iPhone 12 and previous generations. But the main difference is not in the design, but in the capabilities of the new Face ID. Apple asked the employees participating in the testing to wear masks and goggles - and also to test the operation of the sensor using only one accessory. Particular attention is paid to checking the scanner's performance in different lighting conditions, as well as outdoor and indoor tests.
Prosser claims that the dimensions of this module are identical to what should appear in the iPhone 13, so there is reason to believe that if the test results are successful, this particular front camera will be used in the flagship Apple smartphones of 2021 of the year.

IPhone 13 presentation expected already in September in online format. According to the latest data, the cost of new products may rise compared to the iPhone 12 due to the increased prices for chips.
