Samsung will remove ads from standard apps

Surprisingly, in 2021, some companies are still offering electronics with system-level advertising. One of them, however, decided to change the policy: how informs Korean edition of the Maeil Economic Daily, Tae Moon Ro, head of Samsung's mobile division, the standard Galaxy smartphone applications will abandon ad units.

He made the corresponding statement at an online meeting of employees. According to him, since the appearance of advertising in standard applications (Samsung Pay, "Weather", "Health") last year, the company has faced a wave of criticism from users and bloggers, and more and more messages appear on the official forums with requests to refuse advertising in devices for which there are already a lot of users paid.

In the future, Samsung will release a number of One UI updates that will remove ads from system apps. The exact dates have not yet been specified. It is also unclear if this initiative will extend to all devices and regions.
