Samsung unveils a new generation of foldable smartphones: Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3

On August 11, as part of the Unpacked presentation, Samsung showed two new mobile devices with foldable displays: the Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone tablet and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 clamshell. Both new products received Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processors with 5G support and IPX8 waterproof protection.

This model is still the same smartphone that folds into a tablet, only now the device has become even sleeker, thinner and more convenient.

The body is still metal, but the edges are flatter. The new hinge, responsible for bending, reduced the size of the gap between the folding parts and allowed fix the device in a laptop orientation, when one half of the large screen acts as keyboard.

According to the manufacturer, the hinge will withstand 200,000 folding operations. This is over 100 times a day for 5 years.

The main screen has a diagonal of 6.28 inches and a resolution of 2268 × 832 pixels. It is made using Super AMOLED technology. Above center, it has a 10MP selfie camera.

The large display on the centerfold has a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X matrix with a resolution of 2208 × 1768 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and support for the S Pen stylus. True, the accessory is not inserted into the case, and you will have to buy it separately. There is a 4MP selfie camera on the top right side of this screen. It is hidden under the matrix and in an inactive state is completely invisible - like in Xiaomi MIX 4.

The main camera is triple: the main 12 megapixel module with optical stabilization, a 12 megapixel telephoto lens with optical stabilization, and a 12 megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor.

The amount of RAM is 12 GB, and the built-in memory can be 128 or 256 GB. There is also an expansion slot for microSD cards. Battery - 4 400 mAh with support for wireless charging.

This includes a side-mounted fingerprint reader and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be released in three colors at a price of 159,990 rubles for the 256 GB version and 169,990 rubles for the 512 GB version. For pre-order, a case with an S Pen stylus is offered as a gift.

In this more compact novelty, the gap between the body parts is even smaller, it is almost invisible. The edges, made of aluminum, have also become flatter, which should have a positive effect on usability. The outer part of the case is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus.

The main bendable screen has a 6.7-inch diagonal, a resolution of 2640 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Above there is a hole for a 10 megapixel selfie camera.

There is still an additional screen on the lid in the area of ​​the main camera, and this time it is much larger - 1.9 inches. This display wakes up on a double tap and allows you to flip through notifications - like on a smart watch. It can also continuously display time, calendar events, workout data, or act as a viewfinder for quick selfies.

The main photomodule includes two 12 Mp sensors: a wide-angle one with optical stabilization and an ultra-wide-angle one (123 °). Responsible for the performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is complemented by 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. The battery has a capacity of 3,300 mAh.

There are also stereo speakers and a fingerprint scanner on the side. The smartphone will be released in four colors at a price of 89,990 rubles for the 128 GB version and 94,990 rubles for the 256 GB version.
